
Major Bruce Carlisle

Bruce Carlisle came to the Lavonia Police Department in 2000. Bruce began his law enforcement career with the Hillsbourgh County Sheriff's Department in Tampa Florida in 1978 where he retired as a lieutenant. Bruce moved to Northeast Georgia and began working for the Toccoa Police Department in 1992. In 1993 he worked with the Stephens County Sheriff's Department. Bruce started with the Lavonia Police Department in 2000 and was promoted to Sergeant in February of 2002. In September of 2002 Bruce became the first School Resource Officer in Lavonia serving Lavonia Elementary. In 2003 Bruce was made detective. In October 2003 Bruce was promoted to Captain, commander of criminal investigations division. In July of 2006 Bruce was promoted to Major Bruce graduated from Plant City High school in Florida in 1976. After obtaining his Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training mandate training, he has become a P.O.S.T. instructor and specialized instructor in Emergency Medical. He completed his management training in 1991. In addition to serving as the Lavonia Police Department's detective, Bruce also serves as the department's training officer.
